Let Our Family Introduce You To The Newest Giant Microbes Duo! {Review}

This is the newest tag-team diorama duo from Giant Microbes. Please meet the not-so-popular and avoided woodland critter, Tick. Tick could never leave behind his side kick, the dreaded Lyme Disease.

My kids have subsequently re-named them Tock and Lemon.  This pair are pretty much inseparable, always on the lookout for their next unsuspecting victim, I mean “free meal”.

 

Tick is the master of elusive travel, while Lyme, his very quiet sidekick lurks in the background patiently waiting his turn to deploy his silent attack.

 

 

This pair may look all cute and cuddly, but please take heed, they are dangerous. Tick can feel you coming from quite a distance.

 He can begin planning his attack at first sense of heat or each exhale of breath.

At the moment Tick senses motion, he is known to jump from the recesses of trees or hop off the top of  the longest grass blades, in order to grasp his “meal”.

 Look into those beady little eyes, become mesmerized by his stare, go ahead be taken in by the innocent little critter.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you though, he is only thinking about one thing, your blood and how he is going to get it!

Tick is well known for his stealth techniques in hiding, his successful missions of going unnoticed for significant periods of time.

As you can see by this tag, which is firmly attached to Tick, this is why he is so successful in his missions. This shows Tick’s size at 1,000,000 times his normal. In other words that picture is of Tick if he were super-sized.

I know what you are thinking, there is no way this adorable little thing could harm a fly. That is where you {Like myself} would be very wrong. These buggers have those protruding “fang-like” extensions that are actually barbed! Tick is able to “snag” his target by plunging those into an unsuspecting victim easily, since the victim doesn’t take notice, the blood-feast can begin. Luckily, some ticks can be done with their victims within an hour and leave unnoticed. While others can stay indefinitely until they are evicted by the victim.  This eviction process is where Lyme takes advantage of his special tactics in attack.

Lyme has been around for a very long time, only becoming headline news in the early 1980’s. Lyme quickly climbed the charts to the #1 tick-borne illnesses.

Tick is always on the look-out for his next “target”, while Lyme is known to leave a “target” or bulls-eye as only one of the victims possible symptoms.

He is pretty cute though, isn’t he. This little squiggle can really wreak havoc on your body, and it can take up to a month before you notice the Lyme’s signature bull’s-eye.

Again, this tag shows the size of Lyme Disease {or scientifically named Borrelia burgdorferi}at 1,000,000 times magnified. Flip this tag open and you will be able to arm yourself with information on the signature symptoms to look for if you suspect you might be infected.
